Adventuring: the act of being on an adventure.

From first glance, you may assume I am an avid athlete, obsessive outdoors woman, or live for the tick list.

I secretly wish that were true. That I could be the weekend warrior, semi-pro athlete often found here in Colorado (and have the killer abs that come with it...).

I am too inconsistent to be really good at my sport, too distracted by other interests to always be outside, and too mentally cluttered to have an enviable "crushed it" resume. 

That's why what I do is average to some, nothing too trend worthy. Yet, in a culture defined by one-upping in everything from sport to craft to business, I desire to make each adventure epic for me. To appreciate my moments, rather than comparing them to another's. To be thankful for minutes of sun bathing, rather than always dreaming about the next big trip. To find gratitude for what I am able to do, when so many others here and around the world do not have the luxury. 

Well, let's be real. I still long for bragging rights, fitness prowess, and to climb harder than my climbing partner. But, I'm working on living in the perspective life has brought me— outdoor feats bring joy, but so does the adventure of giving, serving, loving, relating, sharing, and dedicating our purpose towards meaningful community and world change. 

(Things I often forget when eyeing some dude on-sighting my project…)

So, these are my moments. Average to some, epic for me. One of the ways I connect with others and my Creator.
